Ayman Zawahiri politely, and suprisingly timidly, requests Zarqawi to be a little less of a psychopath. Just a little bit... for me... The two things that struck me about this is (1) it's clear that the whole Al-Qaeda concept is more of a brand than a reality. Zawahiri has no actual authority or control over this guy. (2) That he's not appalled in principle about what Zarqawi's been up to, but just that it doesn't look very nice....but you just wait till we control that infidel media....they'll rue the day (Homer Simpson's voice comes to mind - yes I know, but I struggle to take these guys seriously some times. And yes I know a butcher knife in your face probably remedies that quite quickly). And (3) just because of a general generosity, God help anyone that ends up living in their dream caliphate. If that's the case, we'll very quickly live in a world in which we have to play football (the real one) in three halves (a very wierd fatwa published the other day and yes I know - what the hell are three halves). This is the link to the letter, another great step for Muslims everywhere. http://www.dni.gov/letter_in_english.pdf Oh yes, just to add. The other day I was watching a great documentary on the SS. Was a good reminder that utopian dreams of perfect societies often end in mass murder. I really believe it is enough to simply want governments to run the trains on time. Everything else usually entails a bunch of chicken hawks sending some one else's children to die for some fantasy. They usually target the idealism of youth and turn them against parents that simply shake there heads in dismay or disbelief. Change is gradual, every thing else is simply a lie. P.S. One more thing, came accross this while getting his picture... go to the FBI's most wanted site, the best line on it: SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS In case you hadn't figured that out by now. bujacob
