Some times the strangest things make me yearn for Egypt. Coming across this recording and the audience participation is quintessentially Egyptian. It's part inspiration, part possession, part showing off. I don't know what it's like in other countries, but I can't imagine other people being so spirited. Listening to his makes me yearn for Cairo. It's a city best experienced very late at night.

Also reminds me of Om Kulthoum, I listened to Inta Omri last night. You can so clearly see her father's influence whom I understand was a Sheikh.
